My brother and his boyfriend just got engaged
His boyfriend proposed at the zoo (which is where they had their first date) in front of the tiger enclosure (which are my brother’s favourite animals). So basically it was super cute. I’m really happy for them. The wedding will probably not be for a real long time but that is not going to stop me planning what fabulous outfit I can wear to my first gay wedding.

I took a sleeping pill last night
Which meant that for the first time in a week I slept for more than 3 hours, which was great, but it also gave me the weirdest dreams: Pie and I were living with these 2 black teenage girls, and for some reason we had to all share this one giant bed. The two girls had dropped out of high school so that they could protest the government to pass some bill about animal rights I knew Michael Buble,...

Because I have kinda chubby cheeks
Pie always jokes that I look like a bulldog. Or a chipmunk storing nuts for the winter. Or Don Corleone. Well today, on the left side of my face at least, that is actually true. These bacteria are fully channeling Marlon Brando today.

Just back from a lovely trip to the emergency...
My ear infection got a bunch worse today and the pain was just constant and unbearable. I got some super strength antibiotics though so fingers crossed those will kick in asap and start making me feel better. I might make myself some late dinner now, I haven’t really eaten all day because the pain was too bad to chew on anything, but now I’m starving so I’m going to give it a...

The Good and the Bad
The Bad I’ve been suffering with this ear infection. It’s been kind of there in the background for like a week, but last night there were a few times where for 10 minutes the pain was unbearable, where I was literally crying and shaking uncontrollably it hurt so bad. Through some psychic twist of fate, I just registered with the doctor yesterday, so I got an appointment this morning....

rigw asked: Thanks for posting that Mac and Chees recipe idea. Can I suggest you also try using either Raclette or Mimolette Cheese instead of the Edam? I only say this because Mimolette is slightly more aged Edam and between 6 to 9 months you get this amazing sweet nutty taste. And Raclette is just sexy when its melted. Or maybe try blending the Mimolette and the Edam. Can you tell I'm getting a bit...

pizzatoporkpie asked: As part of my get out of London at least once a month resolution, I was thinking about doing a day trip to Cardiff. I live right next to Paddington, so it's super easy. Is it worth it? What would you recommend doing there, or are they any neat events coming up?

I added a new food blog to my Google Reader today
I’d had a quick look at the site. The first few recipes looked nice - cookies, enchiladas etc etc. Just scrolling back through the posts on my reader and there was a post all about her infant daughter pooping all over the bath mat WITH PICTURES. WTF?! So much grossness. I have never unsubscribed so quickly.

– “Meryl Streep: Force of Nature,” Vogue (via thatluciegirl) (via foodmusiclife) Meryl Streep donated the $1M she made playing Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady to the endeavor of building a National Women’s History Museum on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. I haven't followed anyone new in ages
I like people who write personal posts and are at least 18. Otherwise I’m pretty open to whoever. Can anyone suggest me some awesome new people to follow?

jefflyall94 replied to your post: It’s weird how much I actually really want a job… Into my fourth month now….sucks I’ve only been 2 1/2 months so far. So far it’s mostly been alright because the first month is pretty great anyway, and then December I kept myself busy with Christmas stuff. The past week I’ve just really wanted to get back into it though. I hope...

It's weird how much I actually really want a job...
Like I actually want to be in an office with other people doing work-type things. Though I know full well that when I do eventually get a new job I’ll be there for maybe a week before I’m bored and tired and I think that work sucks and I wish I was unemployed again. I applied for a few vacancies today and sent my CV off to a local agency as well. So we’ll see how that goes. Half...

I've gotten myself into this rut lately
Where I feel really down a lot because I’m not working. I have no money, and I mostly feel like my life has very little purpose, and also I get lonely a lot because besides Pie, the only person I regularly spend any time with is my driving instructor. I know all this, and I have come to the obvious conclusion that the way to make myself feel happier is to get a job, and in the meantime...

Does anyone here ever deal out their cupcake...
I keep seeing bakers do it that way on Cupcake Wars. But frankly I don’t think my cupcake batter would ever be firm enough to do it that way. I usually just use two spoons, or else I use my piping gun if I want them completely perfect.

– Give Your Employees Unlimited Vacation Days Some look at business management techniques like this and think they are pipe dreams or flat out silly. I disagree: I think it’s a shift in our culture and a necessary one. Just as sales commissions train salespeople to focus on the wrong results, so do...

Moved away from London and back to Cardiff. I was starting to hate London and I always loved Cardiff and so far (despite not having a job) it is proving to be a great decision Finally got an apartment which actually feels like my own home for the first time ever (and in the process realised just how much stuff I actually own) Got laser eye surgery so that I can see without wearing glasses. It...

Goals for 2012
I haven’t made any New Year’s Resolutions, but here are my goals for this year: Reach 1000 foods eaten for 1796foods I’ve been working on my food challenge and this blog for 2 years now, and I’ve eaten 673 of the 1796 foods thus far. 1000 foods by the end of the year is definitely feasible as long as I keep up my pace, and will be an awesome milestone (as will 898 which...
